Sinner

The war I wage
is for my soul,
unconquered by
temperance,
unyielding to reason.
Passion my sin,
love untempered
my crime.
Tragic is the burden
of my heart’s fire,
to love too hot
and burn too bright,
for in my yearning
is found only pain,
for ash is all
such love yields.
Tempered now,
bound by virtue,
sworn to fight
only those without,
I must bend
else I break,
and lose myself
and my world with me.

  1. If your goal is to drive your readers to tears you have succeeded ~

I think I would buy your books and spend dollars to cry, immersing myself in verses like these, lol 🙂
