I will not wait

for the storm to pass,

nor for the light

to pierce the darkness;

I will not wait

for the night to end,

nor for the rain

to cleanse my spirit.

I will not wait

for the word

that’s not coming,

nor for the hope

of tomorrow’s ending.

I will not wait

for this life to be lived,

if alone I must take this path –

I will see it to its end.
